I survived the wisdom tooth removal. I'll probably have more to say about it later. It wasn't that bad, I guess, but the xylocaine still hasn't worn off so I don't know what the next few days will be like. Right now, I'm chomping on gauze and swapping ice packs every twenty minutes. Sitting up makes me tired, so I'm going to lie down again for a while. Ken has been very nice, poking me to change the gauze and ice when I fall asleep. I have an elastic ice-pack holder that I can Velcro around my head, so it stays in place. I feel like Jacob Marley.

In closing: sedation good, and I appreciate all your supportive comments even though I haven't really replied to anything yet. I may not be very interactive for a day or two. Oh, and it's 88 !@#%^& degrees in San Diego, and our windows are covered with plastic because they're painting the building. I would love dearly to go to work and nap on the couch in the breakroom. But, relatively speaking, I'm doing okay.

Oh yeah, I also got to keep the little upper-left tooth. It's kind of cute.

Standing up for ten minutes to cook macaroni + letting vicodin wear off + keeping ice pack off for more than ten minutes + minimal jaw movement necessary to eat partial bowl of lukewarm macaranoi = pain on a scale I have not experienced recently.

More vicodin + fresh icepack + 15 minutes of lying down = hmm, I think I'll try another bowl.
