So I go to water my garden, and an ENTIRE PLAGUE OF LOCUSTS explodes out of my african daisies. These are big bush-like plants, not little flowers, so I am aware that Stuff probably lives in them, but HOLY CRAP. It's a good thing I'm not scared of bugs, though I did possibly take a hasty step backward when one hopped over my foot. They were huge, sort of gray-brown, and easily THE SIZE OF MY PINKY FINGER. (If you have small hands, which I do not, imagine bugs the size of SOMEONE ELSE'S PINKY FINGER, okay?) What I'm saying here is that I had a WHOLE LOT OF GRASSHOPPER going on. WORTHY OF CAPSLOCK.

I have no idea how my tiny little garden plot can be so amazingly infested with inchworms and snails and hawkmoth caterpillars and spiders and aphids and I don't know what the hell else. Sasquatch, maybe. It's enough to make me not entirely ungrateful that the townhouse association is probably going to re-landscape and start actually maintaining the front gardens next year.
