I got these plant stands at the bookstore yesterday:
They don't really work out on the patio, but someday we'll live somewhere where they'll look great. I've been admiring them for a long time and they were on sale. I like the weathered clay/iron/tile/mosaic thing they've got going. I admit, I'd have gone into greater transports over them if I'd found them for $5 apiece at a garage sale, but they're nice-looking anyway.
They're not as squat as they look from this angle, but they're not tall enough to elevate a plant into the little sun we get on the patios, so I guess I'll pack them up for now..
Maybe I should get my mom a pair for Christmas.
