Stuff at the fair:

Let's start with goats in t-shirts.

There's a guinea pig in there somewhere.

Four out of four bunnies prefer this corner.

Giant mobile in the small-animal barn.

I love green gladiolas.

"Sticks on fire" amuse me enough that I feel compelled to announce "sticks on fire!" every time we pass a garden in our complex that has some. This is an individual stick on fire. An award-winning stick on fire.

The flower arrangements are interesting because they usually leave out the card with the judges' comments. The frame on this one was said to be distracting. I suppose I agree, but it's what made me come over to look in the first place.

A diner scene, with everything made out of flowers. The stools, the pies, the sundaes, all flowers.

In the garden area they also have bonsai, and Hon Non Bo, and... this thing that is about rock appreciation. Here are some rocks to appreciate.

The little one in its little individual dish of sand was oddly intriguing.

I couldn't take pictures in the painting exhibit, but outside they had a place where you could make your own art on little cards.

We celebrated our nation's birthday by watching people partake in the great American tradition of smashing cars.

These llamas were named Moonspinner and Bouquet d'Amour. Really.

Chapman stick guy. We see him at the fair every year, usually multiple times. It's nice mellow music to listen to while sitting in the garden.

This year's fair theme was cars, so they had a special car exhibit. This was a custom Star Wars car.

It is, as you can tell, a very big fair. It runs for a good three weeks, there's enough stuff going on there to fill a couple of days (which we did). The food was a little disappointing this year, though I suppose any year when Ken doesn't get food poisoning is a good year. At least we did end with... wait for it...

Needless to say, your county fair is much more impessive than the St. Marys County, MD fair. This was a great picspam, though! I want to teleport there right now and enjoy the NOTABLE PLANT.

This post made me smile. I love fairs - animals in clothing, flowers and crafts and strange food. And smashing cars! What more could you want?

I'm really hungry now. I need some mini donuts. I'd also like a Notable Plant and that very cool metal bike/plant container.

This whole entry is making me wish the Topsfield Fair was this big. Our big state fair is practically in New York, so I've never been.
