I'm wearing what Ken calls my "iPod shirt" today -- it has a circular design on the front, with a smaller circle inside it. He thinks it looks sort of like a click wheel.
It occurred to me that this shirt predates iPods, and now it's just about outlived the click wheel (they only make one iPod with a click wheel anymore, and it's probably on the verge of being discontinued. Too bad, because I really like the click wheel). Soon, the reference will be meaningless.
It also occurred to me that this is a really old shirt. I think I got it during my first years in Madison, so it's pushing 20 years. It's too big, but it's one of the too-big shirts I think still looks okay because it's fairly drapey. Also, I haven't done laundry lately, so I was running out of options.
What's the oldest piece of clothing you still wear?

I do have a scarf that dates back to about 1986 that I occasionally tie my hair back with.
I have a yellow-green knit top that I bought in college that still (amazingly) fits. Nothing else from that period does! It must have come from that period when everybody was wearing oversized unfitted tops given structure by shoulder pads (long since removed and discarded.) Well, it's not oversized anymore!

I wore a shirt out to see Thomas Dolby last weekend that is from 1995 and I bought it used then.
And I have scarves from highschool, too, so mid 80s on that one.

It's a Stetson white hunter hat I bought when I was 18, in 1972, and wore every day for about twenty years. It really needed cleaning. The shop accepted it halfway because it was a challenge. But now I can wear it again, and I am.
I still have a pair of jeans from high school, patched and embroidered, but they don't fit; and my high school coat (an Army cotton overcoat) that I don't wear much because it's never cold enough to need it down here.
