I got some really gorgeous pansies today. They're supposed to be the "jolly joker" variety, purple with an orange whiskery splotch in the middle, but instead they're defective pansies, all orange except for a few purple streaks at the top. I think they're beautiful. They also look good with my nasturtiums. Here are some black pansies, too. I want to take a picture of the flambe pansies, but they've got brown spots on the petals. I don't know what the condition is called, so I don't know if it's curable or if it will spread to my healthy plants. I really don't want to throw them away; I've never found this variety before. Any botanists out there know what this crap is?

Found you at random via the friendsfriends things... the stuff on the petals looks like early frost damage to me, not sure if thats a problem in your part of the world, quite common here in the UK or it *could* be wind burn. I don't thnk its some kind of disease, but you might be best dead heading those flowers just in case.
