The gods of photography must be really pissed that I forgot my camera today. On my way to lunch, I saw a wall (which is usually full of student-posted ads) covered in paper cranes (some of which were possibly folded from the ads that were previously there). There were also two giant cranes in the trees. It's surreal.

This is precisely why I bought a PDA with a camera built in it. While its not the highest quality and is limited to 640 x 480, it does eliminate all of those "dammit I wish I had a camera!!" moments.

Well, that's why I bought a Canon elph camera -- it's quite compact, and I was seeking the 'take everywhere' ideal. But it's a sturdy little thing with a metal body, and it weighs just a bit more than you can really ignore in a pocket. Everyone who owns this camera (the S400) seems to love it more than their pets and children, and it's often cited as one of the best possible compromises when it comes to both small size and good photo quality. If it just weighed a few ounces less... I looked at their smaller models, but hated the notion of giving up my zoom lens. I've really been good about carrying it everywhere for the last couple of months, but I turned it out of my purse because the only place I was going yesterday was to Ken's mom's for a barbecue. I just think that if the main thrust of a camera design is its portability, they should suck it up and use a plastic body, so it will feel a bit less like a cute little ROCK.

I'm going to take it to work tomorrow, though. Bet I see nothing but bunnies all day long.
