This is what happens when you're so busy posting about your beautiful lotus plant that you neglect to water it one day too many. It rained hard overnight on Monday, and I figured the plant wouldn't need any water Tuesday. By Wednesday, it was too late. It dropped all of its flowers immediately, and half of it turned yellow.

I picked up a new one at the Wild Animal Park on Saturday, but damn. Someone remind me to water it at least every other day, if not daily. Don't think I've ever had one die of root rot.

It might still come back. Don't give up hope. There is still some green. It may not be a total loss.
